Are We Salt And Light To A Rotting World Going Mad?

Updated: Feb 19

Be salt and light to a rotting world.

James 4:17

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

  • How can one know to do good? The world has multitudes of different definitions on what it deems as 'good', but none of them really line up with the Word of God.

  • John 14:26 and John 16:13 teaches us that the Holy Spirit 'leads us into all truth' and 'teaches us all things'. This includes the conviction of the Holy Spirit when sin comes into play. If we ignore that conviction, we end up with the attitude of: "Gods grace is greater... He will forgive me", but never come to repentance.

  • If conviction does not lead to a broken and contrite heart, along with repentance, then you ultimately end up with a hardened, proud heart that justifies the sin, using the name of God in vain in all that you think, say and do (2nd Corinthians 11:3/4). This is not a healthy or mature place to be in as a professing follower of Jesus, and sadly, many are there today (particularly in the West).

  • We must come to a heart and attitude of repentance in such an hour, that we will be ready to live out the Maranatha cry even in the face of a hardened, cold world that is going mad. The follower of Jesus is called to be SALT and LIGHT to a ROTTING world.
