Are You A Self-Righteous Hypocrite?

Romans 2:3 (read along with Matthew 7:1/6)
And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
If we judge others on things that we ourselves also practice, we will fall into judgment ourselves, and will be labeled a hypocrite. If we judge with righteous judgement (which is not the same thing as condemnation, which many do not seem to understand), we do so with the intent to point that person to Jesus and to the truth. Judgement is not 'pointing the finger' as much as it is calling a spade a spade and holding somebody accountable for their actions when they continue to do wrong with absolutely zero repentance or remorse.
We need to look upon others with mercy as much as possible, remembering that we serve the loving and kind God who saves all of us for His glory (John 3:16/21). If we seek to condemn others for the sake of our own hypocritical judgements based in biases or emotions, then we not only shame the name of God, but we make ourselves look like fools in His name. Our judgement must be from the truth of the Word, in love, while also making sure we truly examine ourselves before even thinking of any kind of judgement. We must hold OURSELVES accountable first before we can help anybody else!
