Christ Is Not Divided Into Denominations

If Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever... then why have we turned Him into multitudes of denominations and systems of thought?

1^st Corinthians 1:10/13

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

• Why is it that after the early church, during the reformation and beyond, man has taken the teachings of Jesus here and there and turned them into the thousands of denominations and systems of thought which we see before us even now in 2026? I believe that it stems from leaving the simplicity of John 14:26 and John 16:13, and ignoring the warnings in 2^nd Corinthians 11:3/4. Men and women have got the idea in their hearts that they can ‘take the Good News’ and ‘run with it’ in their own fashion, instead of simply just taking Matthew 22:36/40 and Matthew 28:18/20 seriously.

• When the church left the simple command to ‘love God with your entire being’ and ‘your fellow man as yourself’ as well as ‘know Jesus and make Him known as He is according to the Word’, we have continued to trade it off for man made tradition, systems, ideologies, fantasy and many other vain imaginations which have never come from the heart or mind of God, but from men who took it into their own hands to ‘lord over’ the people according to ‘their own understanding’, and passed such things down up to today.

• I believe that a GREAT HUMBLING of the church is coming very soon. Systems will collapse, many will be offended (Matthew 24:9/14), either denying the faith entirely, or being awoken to the simplicity of Christ Jesus once again and having a newfound zeal to serve and make Him known in a world that will have become hostile towards those who simply follow Jesus in a way never seen before (Daniel 7:21/22, Revelation 6:9/11, Revelation 13:1/10). The test will be if folks will be able to have their traditions and man-made vain teachings exposed and destroyed, and simply follow the Good Shepherd.
