Proverbs 16:1-3
The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirits. Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.
Trusting God will lead to a life lived for His glory. Following God in true, authentic faith will lead to a meek and humble life. This requires that one stop seeking for 'their' desires to be fulfilled according to 'their' will in His timing, and simply to surrender to His will, His timing and His Grand Design for all things. God has never once failed, and He has never given anyone 'the short hand'.
If you told me that I was going to suffer an ugly divorce, alienation from my only child, 4 months of jail time, multiple seasons of homelessness, being used by professing believers, being the center of gossip and accusation in a church setting and being 'too nice' and being used by people who wanted to take me for a ride before I became a follower of Jesus in 2008? I probably would have had second thoughts. But now that I have seen His faithfulness, and the incredibly beautiful lessons learned through all of those moments in my life? I wouldn't trade it in for anything else.
Now after publishing 12 books, reaching people around the world with the Good News and encouraging others for the days ahead of us, I take joy in the Lord and His ability to use even a wretch and fool like me for His glory... He can do the same with you, the reader, IF you commit your life to Him, no matter the cost.
