Following An Idea Of Jesus Is Not The Same As Following Jesus As He Commands.

The sad reality of today is that so many are following an 'idea' of Jesus, that they do not recognize the real Jesus in scripture and even become offended when He reveals Himself to them.

Philippians 2:21 (read along with 2nd Corinthians 11:3/4 and Matthew 16:21/23)

For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.

• Is Jesus the meaning and purpose of your life? If you have to think before you answer, this will reveal if you truly follow Jesus. If your idea of Jesus comes from ideas about Jesus, this usually leads to one having a worldview and perspectives not rooted in scripture or the actual Jesus, but by vain imaginations of man, or tradition, or systems or some other method and ideology not rooted in who God truly is. This is why we have 40k+ denominations today within 'Christianity'.

• Jesus requires our full dedication and surrender. If we truly trust Him, we will take Him seriously at His Word, trust in what His Word says as it stands, listen to the Holy Spirit given to lead and guide us, test all other 'ideas' about Him not rooted in scripture or reality and we will follow Him, no matter the cost, for He alone is worthy. Do not fall for the trap of being comfortable in an 'idea' of Jesus (2nd Corinthians 11:3/4) without searching the scriptures and 'testing all things', because millions of people are out there daily speaking and teaching ALL SORTS OF THINGS not rooted in the Word, but their own vain imaginations + a lil bit of scripture to make it sound nice!
