Let's talk about correction, or, the discipline of the Lord.
God disciplines us as a Good Father should.
Correction is a sign of the love that God has for us, for He does not take some sick pleasure in seeing us destroy ourselves.
Anybody who teaches you that 'God would never do this because He loves us' is lying to you, and honestly, may not know the Lord Jesus at all.
