His Holy Fire Consumes Our Wretchedness.

Hebrews 12:29

For our God is a consuming fire.

• Just as a refiner, a blacksmith uses his skills to bend, break, reform and restore, so God uses His consuming fire to mold us into the image of His Son, Christ Jesus. He does not leave us in the mires of this world when we come to know Him, but He takes us out of it all, dusts us off, cleans off the 'muck' and refines us into beautiful vessels for His glory.

• Trust in His Refinement process as He seeks to finish His perfect work in you for His glory. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and He does not 'quit on us' halfway through. It is He alone who is trustworthy to refine us into the men and women required to walk alongside Him in the coming Kingdom when He comes to make all things new, to end this current reality of sin and to wipe away all tears (Revelation 21:4).
