Is Your Salt And Light Genuine Or Artificial?

Matthew 5:13

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men."

• As followers of Jesus, we are required to be mature, humble, uncompromising and always in a heart, mind and attitude of repentance, seeking to glorify God, and never self, all while following the example of Jesus, making Him known to a world that is decaying and rotting away.

• All of this is to be done while focusing on Matthew 22:36/40 and Matthew 28:18/20. Jesus has given us our 'marching orders' for a world that hates Him, and for a world that is rotting, decaying and full of darkness. The follower of Jesus is to point to the truth in love, while seeking to see the lost be saved in Christ Jesus alone.

• If salt and light becomes nothing more than 'going to a building once a week', while our local communities know nothing of Jesus, then it becomes useless. We simply go to a 'country club' and 'do our Jesus thing', ignoring the need for Jesus to be made known in such a time as this. Our salt and light must be genuine, or it will merely be systematic and useless.
