Put On The Armor; And Trust In The One Who Bears You With It.

Ephesians 6:10-12

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  • Our true enemy is unseen. He is deceptive, delusional, crafty and a liar, the king of lying (John 8:44). When we begin to understand that our only true enemy is Satan (1st Peter 5:8/9), we can then begin to look at our fellow man through the eyes of Jesus, desiring their salvation, and not their destruction.

  • When a warrior goes out to battle, they do not simply trust in the armor itself, but they have to place their trust in the One who bears them with it. If that armor is what we place our trust in, then we fall for the trap of placing our faith, in 'our faith'. When we understand that it is in Christ alone we stand (Ephesians 2:8/9, Psalm 62:2), we can face the chaos in which we will enter due to a world full of sin and delusion, understanding that the war has never belonged to us, but to Christ Jesus alone, who has 'conquered the world' (John 16:33).
