REST In His Grand Design; Make Known The Son To The Nations.

2nd Thessalonians 2:16-17

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

• The follower of Jesus is to stir up their brethren to love and do good works. The good works are not telling people that 'Jesus loves you as you are' or 'God wants for you to be successful and happy' (both of these are used to mislead millions today), but to encourage people to repentance, repenting ourselves and seeking to know and make Jesus known. In short, following the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:35/40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16/20).

• We can REST in the salvation which Christ Jesus has provided. BUT, this rest is not 'sitting on our hands and waiting for His return'. We are to make Him known while it is still called 'today', as the night is rapidly approaching (we could say that the sun has already set in today's world). Jesus must be made known to a world going mad, no matter what it will cost us (2nd Timothy 3:12).

• God has given to us all that we need. If we rest in this, we will prove to be faithful in Him. He is our sovereign Father, and we can trust Him always. If we try to 'make our own kingdom in His name' or mix our own agendas with His Grand Design, we could mislead many and be held accountable for not trusting in His sovereign and perfect will written and proclaimed through His perfect and unfailing Word, Holy Spirit, Son and the only One being in control of all His-Story even now in these days.
