The Aroma Of Truth, Leading To Life VS The Aroma Of Lies, Leading To Death.

Are you pungent, or are you pleasant?

2nd Corinthians 2:14-17

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

• There is a type of Christianity today that is nothing more than a foul odor, simply because it is one that promises prosperity, success, comfort, never facing difficulty, and God overall being portrayed as a genie who grants our every selfish desire. And then there is an aroma that brings dead souls to life by pointing them to the Source of that Aroma, the Word of God, Christ the Son, the need for salvation, living a New Life, turning from living that lie or suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.

• Those who peddle the Word of God do so not only to their own damnation (Matthew 18:6, Matthew 7:21/23), but they bring multitudes with them simply by tickling their ears with the lies of our time, as well as being a mouthpiece for the god of this age. God has sent His Son to save us from the judgement that we deserve BECAUSE of His love (John 3:16/21), while the god of this age merely wants to drag you to his eternal prison (Revelation 19:11/21).

• I urge you, the reader, to consider how and what you live for in this hour. If you are a foul stench to God, then you will do so to your own doom. But if you are seeking to know and follow the only One who loves you (1^st John 4:19), then you are trying to find life above from a world currently getting ready to completely destroy itself. Know Jesus and make Him known while there is still time!
