The 'Law' Is Kept In Following The Example Of Jesus.

Hypocrisy knows her children, for they are many...
Hypocrisy knows her children, for they are many...

Romans 3:20

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

  • We cannot be 'good enough' in our own merits. In short, we cannot be 'good enough' to enter heaven by our own deeds. Only in Christ Jesus (repentance), in His finished work can we learn the true purpose of the law, and it is in this: Love God with your entire being, and THEN you can begin to love your fellow man as yourself. 'On these hang all of the law and the prophets' (Matthew 22:36/40).

  • If your 'keeping of the law' is based on 'I do this to gain cookie points with God', or to 'look good and righteous' in front of others, then you are no different than a Pharisee and thus, a hypocrite (Matthew 23:27/28). In other words, you put on a 'show' or a 'form' of godliness, but deny its power (2nd Timothy 3:1/5). You do not do good to glorify God, but seek approval from others, while behind closed doors, you act no different than the world (Luke 18:9/14). The law is simplified in Matthew 25:31/46... whatever you do to your fellow man, or your brethren (the least of these His brethren), you do unto Jesus. So if we seek to glorify God our Father, we will follow the example of Christ Jesus the Son (Luke 10:25/37).
