The Perfect Foolishness Of The Cross

Those who laugh and mock at the cross and at Christ do not yet fully understand that if they do not repent and believe, they will be weeping and gnashing their teeth at the very One who died to save them and set them free from living a lie and suppressing the truth in unrighteousness.

1^st Corinthians 1:18/19

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

• As we witness the world striving more into the direction of supposed ‘progress’, it will seek more and more to consider the Word of God as a ‘hinderance’ overall, and seek to ‘end’ the lives of those that keep that truth and follow God. This is becoming more obvious with each passing year, as we see more of a hostility towards God, His Word and those who keep His commandments (Matthew 22:36/40, Matthew 28:18/20).

• Have you ever witnessed to somebody before? I have. When I first tried it, I was incredibly nervous and stumbled over my words and looked like an idiot, and yet, some people still understood the message. But I remember one time in particular, where I was witnessing to a group of young women at the movies who just came out from seeing a popular movie, I presented the Good News to them, and during the process, most of the girls snickered and laughed, but one of them had a serious look on her face, and I heard the Holy Spirit say: “Focus on her”, so I did. And while I may never know on this side of eternity, if she accepted Jesus, I do know that the seed was cast as I was commanded to do so, even if I looked foolish in the process.

• I encourage you, the reader, to take the time needed to know Jesus, study His Word and then go out to make Him known. The Good News was never ever meant to be kept to ourselves, nor was it meant to be stored in a set of services and programs as we so often do in a church setting. Jesus commanded we ‘go’ into the world and to make Him known, no matter the cost.
