The Reality Of Following An Idea Of Jesus Rooted In The Vain Imaginations Of Man.

Matthew 7:21/23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"
Many believe that their ministry will save them on the last day. Many believe that their doctrines will save them on the last day. Many believe that their studies in seminary, studies online, studies with their favorite teachers, many hours listening to podcasts and talking with people about 'theories' and 'ideas' about the scriptures are going to save them. Some believe that their traditions will save them. Multitudes of people have some odd or spun off idea not rooted in the Word of how Jesus is going to respond to them at the judgement, and this is terrifying.
If you are seeking to serve the Lord Jesus for a 'reward' for 'doing the most good deeds' or 'practicing the most tradition' or 'gaining the most book smarts' and 'winning all of the arguments' or 'making your country great again and winning the culture war', then you will ultimately be ignoring the mandates of Matthew 22:36/40 and Matthew 28:18/20, trading it in for doing 'MY' will, 'in the name of God', and thus be practicing lawlessness, living a lie 'in the name of God'.
As an author of 12 books and somebody who has written thousands of devotionals, I am not going to stand stand before the Lord with the argument of: "But Lord Lord, didn't I write books and devotionals, trying to encourage people every day?", because if I am not following Jesus and doing as He commands, then none of it matters in the long run. So my exhortation to you, the reader, is this... are you following Jesus and serving Him as He commands, or are you merely following an 'idea' of Him that fits your 'style'?
The time to know this is now.
