The Sure Shield Against This Wicked Age.

In this age of war, we must learn once again to take 'every thought captive' into the mind of Christ Jesus, while using the Word of God as our Shield against a world trying to always take us down.

Psalm 18:30

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

• The world is good at throwing stones at us. Throwing fire at us. Throwing insults, slander, mocking, our past, our failures, our sins, everything at us. The adversary of our souls seeks to kill, steal and to destroy. But it is God who is our Shield, our Savior, our Protector. It is Christ Jesus alone who is our Deliverer, and the One who keeps our head held high in the heat of battle.

• The things of this life cannot be used as a ‘shield’, for each of them can be broken and undone. If we place our hope and defense in things which can perish, then we will find ourselves bloodied and wounded to such a degree, we may even begin to look at God as the enemy, instead of the adversary of our souls.

• I know that many of you are feeling the crushing weight of many different things going on in our own personal lives, as well as witnessing the rapid changes in the world all leading up to the end of the age. I humbly encourage you to endure, to keep that Shield of Faith raised high, to keep your eyes upon the King of kings, and to not allow things to consume you. When Jesus said: “I am with you to the end of the age”, He truly meant this.
