Isaiah 24:1/6
Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste, distorts its surface and scatters abroad its inhabitants. And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the debtor. The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, for the LORD has spoken this word. The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away; the haughty people of the earth languish. The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.
If you have even a simple understanding of eschatology, you can clearly see today that the world is racing into what of much Jesus said we would see and the prophets/apostles warned about even in their own days. We live in a time of 'shaking', and it is revealing great deals of falsehood in the church, and the world in general, along with a false sense of 'everything is just normal', when it is not. The world is rapidly devouring itself with everything being 'normalized', even while lawlessness is abounding, and the love of many is growing cold.
How is the follower of Jesus to prepare for the days we are heading into? First and foremost, they MUST have an actual relationship with their Lord, Savior and Creator. They must take His Word seriously, and not simply as some 'book' or 'intellectual study material'. They must look at hard realities like persecution and martyrdom (2nd Timothy 3:12, Revelation 2:10, Revelation 6:9/11, Revelation 13:10, Revelation 12:11, Revelation 14:13), going into the history of it, looking at the underground church and preparing their hearts and minds to hold on to the things of this world with VERY LOOSE grips. We must be willing to make Jesus known, and count the cost. We must even be ready to witness things in our lifetime that we never thought we would see.
I encourage you to take the time needed to sit down with the Lord, ask hard questions, examine your heart and mind, repent and believe. The time of infant faith is over, and it is time to begin growing and preparing for refinement like never before. We will be rooted in the heart of Maranatha (he who endures to the end shall be saved), or we will fall prey to the coming storm of chaos and delusion (Matthew 24:9/14).
