They Are Comfortable In Their Conformity And Self-Knowledge.

Multitudes of professing Christians merely follow an idea of Jesus made up on their own minds.

Jude 1:16/19

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

• There is a type of intellectual Christianity which believes itself to be superior above all else simply because one has studied words, read commentaries, praised fathers of the faith and collected many books, watched many videos and listened to many podcasts, while never having an actual relationship with their Lord, Savior and Creator, and when you attempt to converse with them, they only seek to ‘win the argument’, instead of edifying, being edified or being encouraged or encouraging others to follow Jesus and simply trust Him. These types are arrogant beyond measure and merely follow an ‘idea’ of Jesus conformed in their own hearts and minds.

• The most dangerous part about being an ‘intellectual’ Christian, is that this is all you will be… one who argues over words (2^nd Timothy 2:23), slanders those who disagree with you or has other scripture to edify and encourage, and will leave you feeling in a ‘superior’ status not seen as good in the sight of God (1^st Peter 5:5, Proverbs 3:34). Having some ‘degree’ will not save you on the last Day at the Judgement.

• Truly, the most dangerous ideologies right now in the church would be: Preterism (partial or full), Christian Nationalism, Amillennialism, Pretribulationalism, Replacement ‘Theology’, New Age Gnosticism, and many more. All of these seek to conform Christ to their own image, ignore the full context of scripture, get their ideas based upon men from the past that they do not do the due diligence to study what they really believed and taught, and spend too much time listening to things that tickle their ears (even smart sounding things tickle the ears), and make them feel ‘smart’ and ‘better-than-thou’. If you fall into this category, I encourage you to repent and humble yourself before it is too late, because time is so so short.
