This World Is Not Your Friend.

1st John 2:15/17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
The only business a follower of Jesus has in the world is in making Jesus known to it (Matthew 28:18/20), and showing that love of Jesus as He left us an example to do at all times (Matthew 22:36/40). If we enjoy this world too much, then we will eventually be given over to it and end up living a lie in the midst of it (come out of her My people).
When we look at the zeal some people have for vain things like football, gun shows, politics and other things of this age, we often wonder why people put their zeal and joy into temporary vanities, but when it comes to God and Christ Jesus, they are merely seen as a 'mascot' or an 'accessory' placed at the backburner. In short, they worship Jesus with their mouth, but their heart is too invested in the world that THEY KNOW is going to end at some point. They treat their walk with Jesus as a 'weekend thing', but the rest of the week is spent in 'doing the world grind', not realizing that we are not here on this side of eternity forever, and we will ALL stand before God to give an account (Hebrews 9:27).
As we see the world rushing to the end, preparing itself to enter a possible dystopian nightmare (Ai, peace and safety, mixing things that should not be mixed, etc), how should we be spending the time given to us? Jesus has given us our MANDATE (Matthew 28:18/20). But if we are too busy buying tickets to the next football game, making bets on the next UFC match, planning out a college fund, or doing other things with a 'He will never return in my lifetime' mentality, how will you respond when you invested too much time in a world that hates God and not enough time making Jesus known to it?
"I must do the works of My Father while it is still call today, for the night is approaching, when nobody can work..."
