Why Are We Given The Holy Spirit?

1st John 2:26/27 (please read along with John 14:26 and John 16:13)
These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things (John 14:26, John 16:13), and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
The Holy Spirit is not a cuddly feeling or some emotional goop that makes us feel good as so many teach today. The Holy Spirit is the 'Seal of Promise' (Ephesians 1:13/14), but He is also the One who 'teaches us all things, leads us into all truth and shows us things to come' (John 14:26, John 16:13). If anyone teaches anything outside of the scriptures, the Holy Spirit gives us discernment to understand the voice of the Good Shepherd (John 10:27/29), and that of the adversary (1st Peter 5:8/9).
Because the Holy Spirit is given as our eternal Guide into all truth, we can be sure also that the adversary will attempt to use multiple people and ideologies to mislead us along the way (2nd Corinthians 11:3/4). Many have been so conditioned to conformed religion and a conformed Jesus that they do not ask, but merely 'go with the show' because it 'feels right', not realizing that worshiping an 'idea' of Jesus is not the same as actually being obedient to Him and following Him, no matter the cost.
I urge you friend, if you are following an 'idea' of Jesus that does not match up with the Word (the Source), then you are already being misled. Please seek the Lord while it is still called 'today' (John 14:6), discard the ideas you have been taught, surrender to the Holy Spirit and be teachable by Him. He is gracious and kind to teach us all things, lead us into all truth and show us things to come.
