You Are Nothing. He Is Everything.

If Jesus is not the meaning and purpose of your life, the world will teach you to find it in vanity, or worse, doing it all 'in the name of God', but for your own little kingdom.

Romans 12:3

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

“Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight…”

Isaiah 5:21

• The follower of Jesus who acts smug, arrogant, full of themselves or like their understanding of the Word makes them ‘superior over others’, this is a detestable thing in the eyes of God. It proclaims to the watching world that Christians are merely book nerds who condemn others not like them, and thus they have no desire to follow Jesus or understand their need for salvation. I know this from experience when I have allowed my understanding of the Word to rush ahead of the command to “love my fellow man as myself”, which requires that one tells the truth in love both with words and actions, while first loving God with our entire being.

• When you place yourself ‘over others’, instead of as a servant as Jesus commanded, you will eventually treat others in a wrongful manner that does not glorify God. Multitudes of professing Christians do this right now in 2026, even justifying it. When love of God, your fellow man and the truth is not center in your walk with Jesus, one will merely turn their Christianity into some intellectual concept where they need to ‘win the argument’ instead of actually seeking to witness the work of the Holy Spirit bringing somebody to see their need for salvation and relationship with their Savior and Creator.

• The ‘measure of faith’ each of us is given is according to how much we choose to mature in this walk when we face difficulty. When we face the fires of trial and tribulation, one can either be offended, or they can draw closer to the Lord and trust in His shaping of our lives for His glory. I know that in my own walk, the darkest moments are where I grew the most, not to be ‘better than others’, but to be better than who I used to be before ALL for the glory of God, being a simple, humble servant that makes Him known. All of us should seek to do this as much as possible every day.
