Your Kingdom Work Is Not Greater Than Others Out In The Same Field.

If you are working in His Kingdom to build your own 'little kingdom in His name', somehow expecting a 'greater reward', you will be sorely disappointed.

Matthew 20:1/16 (also read Matthew 25:14/30)

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’ So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”

• Countless multitudes of men and women have their own little 'ministries' here on earth. This in itself is not sinful or wrong. Quite the contrary, as multitudes have done great help to the world at large because of how God is using them. But the unfortunate reality is that there are just as many who have their own 'little kingdoms' or their own 'little empires' here on earth that, when threatened, will throw you under the bus to protect them at all costs, even if it means twisting the Word and character of God in order to keep themselves from being held accountable for sinful and wrong behaviors 'in the name of God'.

• I myself am involved in a homeless outreach program that I went through at one point when I was going through a difficult point in my life. I assist with the program now as a volunteer because I love seeing the lives of others be changed from being on the streets, to becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus. While it does not impact the world (yet), it helps the local community I serve in to see the love of Jesus and that I am doing as He commands in this season. I believe we should all strive in a similar manner, to go out and serve and not simply 'show up to a church once a week'.

• The unfortunate reality is that many have fooled themselves into thinking that they will stand before the Lord and be let in to eternity because of 'their ministry'. But what one needs to do is remind themselves that God can raise up and tear down a ministry as He sees fit, especially if leadership or resources are being used in a wrongful manner, and if accountability is not held (and this is rampart in American churches right now, hence the sex scandals and money laundering). The church is meant to be a community of 'called out ones' going to serve their communities for the glory of God, living in the newness of Christ Jesus to every soul that they encounter, making Him known for HIS glory, and not their own.
