Here I give some examples throughout scripture that paint the fullness of the BAD news and the GOOD news all the way up to the return of Jesus.
The bad news - Genesis 3:1/19
Adam and Eve disobey God and bring sin into the world. This reality eventually shows the world that ALL OF US have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and need salvation which cannot be brought by our own hands, but through Christ Jesus alone.
The good news – Genesis 3:22/23
God sends Adam and Eve out of the Garden so that they do not eat from the tree of life and thus place mankind in an eternal state of sin, thus showing the first sign of mercy and coming salvation in the future.
The bad news – Genesis 4:1/15
Cain kills his brother Abel out of jealousy because God accepts the offering of Abel but not that of Cain. This is the first murder, and sends mankind deeper into depravity.
The good news – Genesis 4:25/26
Adam and Eve have another son, Seth, who continues a royal bloodline which will ultimately lead to Jesus. Man also begins to call upon the name of the Lord.
The bad news - Genesis 6:1/7
Mankind becomes so depraved and sinful, God plans to send a flood to destroy everything.
The good news – Genesis 6:8
Noah and his family find grace in the sight of God and are preserved as God floods the earth and destroys everything.
The bad news – Genesis 11:1/4
Mankind comes together to build a tower to the heavens, having nothing kept from which they desire to do.
The good news – Genesis 11:5/9
God came down to confuse the language of the people and to stop the building of the tower. Mankind is beginning to do this again (technology, one world government, etc), which will lead to the end of the age and the return of Jesus.
The bad news - Genesis 37:12/36
The brothers of Joseph are envious of him because of how God is already using him. So they sell him off to Egypt, then play it off to their father Jacob (Israel) that he was eaten by lions and is dead.
The good news – Genesis 45:1/28
Joseph goes through trial and tribulation in Egypt, but then becomes chosen by God to reveal the dreams of Pharaoh, prepare the nation for exceedingly great famine and to ultimately be in a position to forgive his brothers, after testing them for what they put him through. This is a foreshadow of the reconciliation which will come between Ishmael and Jacob at the end of the age when Christ Jesus returns, and when Israel recognizes their Savior.
The bad news – Prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, etc)
Ancient Israel faces judgement because of disobedience to the covenants and falling away from Adonai, choosing the gods of the nations and the god of this age.
The good news – Prophets (Romans 11)
While the prophets proclaimed judgement upon ancient Israel, they also proclaim coming blessing afterwards, and especially at the end of the age, as well as the coming Mashiach (Yeshua) who will save them (even after He is first rejected).
The bad news – Yeshua is rejected by His own (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
Yeshua comes to proclaim repentance and the coming Kingdom of God. Some accept Him as Mashiach, while multitudes of others reject Him or are unsure. He does multitudes of miracles (John 21:25), but in the end is betrayed by one of His own (Judas) who hands Him over to the religious leaders of that day, who take Him to the courts and condemn Him to death on a cross, as an innocent man who had committed no wrong, and no sin was in Him (Isaiah 53:1/12).
The good news – Yeshua raises from the dead 3 days later (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
Yeshua dies on the cross, is laid to rest in an unmarked tomb, but then He raises from the dead 3 days later, conquering sin and death (John 3:16/21). He appears to His disciples and multiple other witnesses (over 500 at once in some accounts) and gives His disciples their marching orders (Matthew 28:16/20) leading into Pentecost (Acts 2:1/4), when the Holy Spirit is given to them to go out into the world and to make Him known.
The bad news – Book of Acts to Romans
Paul, who is persecuting the early church, is making it difficult for the church to grow and reach more people. All of this along with the Pharisees and other religious leaders continuing to silence and hunt down those who know and are knowing Yeshua as Lord and Savior.
The good news – Book of Acts to Romans
Paul is confronted by Yeshua on the road to Damascus, becomes blinded, shortly after has his eyes opened and is assigned by the Lord Himself to go to the Gentiles (non Jews) who would be grafted in to salvation (not replacing the Jews, but joining in with the promises) . Paul then becomes Saul. He ends up writing almost all of the New Testament.
The bad news - 2nd Thessalonians 2:1/12
A lot of the church will fall away to apostasy (we are witnessing this now in 2026). Many are embracing heresy, delusion, doctrines of demons and right now even being influenced by the spirit of antichrist and outright delusion of all sorts (antisemitism on the rise and worse than during Nazi Germany, people believing the antichrist is XYZ person not related to scripture, mixing conspiracy with eschatology, etc).
The good news - Matthew 24, 2nd Timothy 3:12, Revelation 2:10, Revelation 6:9/11, Revelation 13:10, Revelation 14:13, Revelation 16:4/7
Those who endure faithfully as Jesus commands at the end of the age (Matthew 24, Revelation 2-3) and 'overcome' the antichrist and his rage, will have passed the test, been refined, matured and have laid down their lives for Jesus as He has laid down His life for us. Those of us alive during this time will be used in miraculous ways to glorify God and draw many into the Kingdom of God (Revelation 20:4, 21:7, 22:14).
The bad news – Book of Revelation (Revelation 4-17)
The DAY of judgement is coming (sooner than we think). The Lord our God, Adonai, has set a time of the End for all things, when the nations will be judged, Israel will be chastised one final time, a third temple will be built in Jerusalem, THE antichrist will make himself known to the world, make false peace with Israel and send the world into chaos, persecute the saints of the Most High God, overcome them (Daniel 7:21/22, Daniel 12, Matthew 24, Revelation 13, etc) and bring the worst time of human history ever to be seen by mankind.
The GOOD NEWS – Book of Revelation (Revelation 16-22)
Yeshua returns (Revelation 16:15), overcomes the antichrist and his false prophet, satan, all those who join in with him, and ends this current reality of madness and delusion (Revelation 19:11/21). He then establishes the NEW JERUSALEM where He will rule and reign from, wipe away all tears of the saints (Revelation 21:4), resurrect the dead, judge all of mankind and give to them their rewards, save the covenant people (Jews of today) and set forth a NEW CHAPTER for mankind to embark on in a world without sin, death, destruction, depravity, delusion and degeneracy. A place where He has made ALL THINGS NEW, and where Maranatha has become a full and complete reality.
