Why Do You Love This World So Much?

1st John 2:15/16

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

The pride of life in 2026:

  • Saving my country.

  • Saving my race.

  • Saving my political party.

  • Saving my culture.

  • Saving my desires and temporal joys.

  • Making my country great again.

  • Winning against my political opponents.

  • Preserving a sinful, wicked world so it can continue on forever.

  • Blaming all of your life issues on one people group.

  • Never being able to criticize your side even when it is wrong.

Imagine that you seek to 'save' all of the vain things in the world around you, simply because you enjoy them too much and have a false notion that they will 'be around forever'. This is the reality of so many in 2026, where they really believe that 'life will go on for another 50-100-1000 years', while utterly ignoring the current trajectory of all things.

Whenever I hear or see people say "in 10 years, in 20 years, in 50 years, in 100 years" I shake my head, because it means that they have already made up in their minds: "Jesus will never return on my lifetime" or "this world will always continue on like this". But this is the hard reality:

Matthew 24:44 (Revelation 16:15)

“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

If anyone is absolutely honest with themselves, whether a follower of Jesus or an atheist or a skeptic, they can see that things are rapidly changing in our world, and have been truly since 2020. The world has shifted in so many ways in every aspect imaginable, and people ARE paying attention. But the sad reality is that so many are simply still too attached to this world, and they see the coming changes as 'progress' or 'enlightenment' or 'evolution' or some other mystic word or phrase meant to stir the ego, emotions and pride of life.

I ask the one reading this in blunt honesty... what exactly do you hold to too tightly on this side of eternity? What have you convinced yourself will 'be around forever'? Why do you seek to 'fight' for things that you already know will be 'done away with' at the end of the age? (Revelation 21:4). What brings a soul to think that this wicked age will always 'go on' even 'after we are gone'?

I encourage you to really consider these things and to truly see where you stand with God, because each of us will stand before God to give an account (Hebrews 9:27) as to what we did in a world that hates Him, because if we spent it going to football games, voting for a different political candidate thinking that it will 'fix things', fighting a supposed culture war without the Word of God, fighting for our 'rights' or some other cause we think will 'always be around', and we didn't live in a Matthew 28:18/20 and Matthew 22:36/40 mentality, then we could very much find ourselves hearing: "I never knew you..."

Nothing that this world offers is of any true value. Whatever the world offers you that perverts the image, likeness, Word and character of God is an abomination and merely used by the god of this age to deceive you into living a lie 'in the name of God'. It gets you to think that "God is just like me" (Isaiah 55:8/9, Psalm 50:21). I urge you friend, be IN this world, but not OF it, for this world is reaching its peak of depravity, and those who cling to it WILL face wrath...

"Come out of her My people, that you share not in her sins..."
